The project Kadmon was conceived at the intersection of several trajectories — architectural, ritual, and energy. It grew from the long-standing dialogue between Archmeta and Steamology Institute, whose work began at Burning Man 2014 with the creation of a mobile bathhouse camp bringing the culture of steam to the desert.
The 2020 LAGY competition, dedicated to renewable-energy architecture, marked a new stage in the festival's evolution. Among 180 entries from around the world, Kadmon was shortlisted for its integration of solar energy, atmospheric design, and symbolic spatial form.
At its core, Kadmon explores the relationship between the temporary and the permanent. Four spherical "vessels" form the ensemble: one central chamber that distributes sunlight and heat, and three peripheral ones that collect it through specialized reflective membranes. The architecture embodies a movement between earth and light.
